Email deliverability is three problems, not one

Domain, list, content — in that order. What actually decides whether a campaign lands in the inbox, and why no platform can honestly promise you a rate.

Email Marketing overview with campaign funnel and recent campaigns

Our email marketing page carries a line most vendors avoid: no platform can promise an inbox rate, and we do not. That is not modesty — it is how the system works. Whether a campaign lands is decided by three things, and the platform only controls the plumbing underneath them.

Domain, list, content — in that order

Your domain is your reputation. Mail providers score the sending domain, which is why every send from Ohanvi is authenticated from your own verified domain rather than a shared one — a shared pool means inheriting the worst sender in it. Warm a new domain slowly: hundreds of sends a day before thousands.

Your list is the second problem, and the biggest one in practice. Sending to an address twice because it was imported twice, or to addresses that bounced last quarter, is the fastest way to train filters against you. This is why deduplication on import and a suppression list are not conveniences — they are deliverability features.

Content comes last, and it matters less than the folklore says. Spam-trigger word lists are mostly superstition; what filters actually weigh is engagement history. A domain whose messages get opened lands. A domain whose messages get deleted unread stops landing, whatever the subject line says.

What to watch instead of a promised rate

Watch bounces per campaign — rising bounces mean list decay. Watch spam complaints against sends — over about 0.1% and providers start acting. Watch the open trend across campaigns rather than any single send. Those three, on your own reporting, are worth more than any deliverability percentage a vendor prints on a landing page.
